FreeB92 interview Belgrade 1999
Interview on FreeB92 radio the day of the performance of Yugoslavia Suite in Belgrade. FreeB92 has the center of opposition to the rule of Serbian strongman Slobodan Milošević, who would soon become the first sitting head of state to be charged with international war crimes. Just the fact that Ostertag had made it through the economic blockade of Serbia to perform his work in the capital, in a concert sponsored by the opposition radio, along with the explosive content of the work itself, created an extremely tense situation around the interview and performance. Ostertag wrote about the experience in the book Creative Life: Music, Politics, People and Machines.
