After the Strozzi Palace in Florence I went to Giulianova for a small concert organized by Giuseppe Di Berardino, a small-town orthodontist who developed a consuming passion for adventurous music in his sixties. The “concert” was essentially a dinner party for the dentist and his patients. The next day the dentist and I traveled 80 miles by bicycle to Termoli, an even smaller town further south down the Adriatic coast of Italy. There I did another informal concert in the Pecorallegra cafe. I never would have considered eating vegan food in Italy, the home of pecorino cheese. But I am here to tell you that Pecorallegra is one of the best restaurants I have ever eaten at. Unbelievable. So, the Strozzi Palace in the birthplace of the renaissance to a dinner concert with dentist. Love this tour.
